Welcome to www.SDVisit.com, the Office of Tourism’s Web site for the South Dakota visitor industry. Congratulations on your progress as we drive forward to reaching our 2010 goal of doubling visitor spending from $600 million to $1.2 billion.

2007 was an outstanding year for the visitor industry in South Dakota. By participating in strategic cooperatives, conducting in-depth research and extending our online efforts, you boosted visitor spending in the state to $941 million. That 8.8 percent growth and $76 million increase is the highest in state history and puts us on pace to reach our 2010 goal. Congratulations on a job well done!

I encourage you  to capitalize on this momentum as we move into 2008. Continue to participate in cooperative marketing efforts, utilize research and pay close attention to regional and national trends. Let’s keep working together as we showcase the Great Faces and Great Places of our state.
