South Dakota Travel Monitoring SystemThe South Dakota Travel Monitoring System (SDTMS) reports changes in the volume of travel activity occurring in the state. The system has been developed and is maintained by the Center for Tourism Research at Black Hills State University for the South Dakota Office of Tourism. Here you can view results on attractions attendance, lodging and campground occupancy rates, inbound air passenger traffic, lodging sales tax collections, highway traffic volume, and other indicators of travel activity. Information on weather and economic conditions is also present to give essential context to results.
