Peak Season Marketing in Full Swing

The above map demonstrates the impact of South Dakota's travel and tourism advertising over the last 30 days. The red areas indicate a very high level of penetration by DMA (Designate Marketing Area). Measuring the amount of interest in South Dakota vacations from a specific area and comparing that total with the total population of the same area we can get an idea of how our marketing is working.

See South Dakota Week
During the week of May 12, the Media Team will travel across the state speaking with local media outlets and promoting travel within our state.
Key messages will include the importance of tourism to South Dakota’s economy, the significant role every citizen plays in the tourism industry, what’s new for tourism in 2008, current marketing strategies and more.
