DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Dear Industry Partners,

Can you believe we’re halfway through July already? The peak season is going fast, and so far we’re hearing good things. I hope you’re all faring well and have good news to report come the end of summer!

In this month’s eFYI newsletter, please pay special attention to the information regarding the Digital Revolution. This truly is a revolutionary public-private partnership that Governor Rounds supports fully. Not only is it an opportunity to cross-sell businesses, attractions and destinations across the state, but it works for both large and small businesses, making it beneficial for absolutely everyone in the industry.

I hope you’ll consider becoming a partner, and that you’ll attend one of the upcoming industry meetings to gain more information.

Sincerely,
Melissa Bump

2010 Governor's Conference on Tourism
Next year's Tourism Conference is scheduled for January 20-21, 2010...mark your calendars now! And, it's not too early to make hotel reservations.

In addition, sponsorship mailers will be hitting mailboxes soon. In order to offer as much quality content and as many training opportunities as possible, financial assistance from the visitor industry is essential. Please consider supporting this valuable learning and networking opportunity by becoming a conference sponsor. Contact Joey Hockett for more information at joey.hockett@state.sd.us.

What Our Visitors Are Saying...
From visitors to Custer State Park:

"Everywhere we went in the Park, the scenery and wildlife were stunning, but equally important, the staff at the Park were unfailingly friendly, kind and helpful. We will be back and, hopefully, soon! I am a native South Dakotan and went to high school in Rapid City, but have been gone from the Black Hills for far too long. Thanks for reminding me of why I love the Black Hills and will always consider it home."
