At a Glance...

The December Travel Indicators reflect a slight decrease in most categories. Attractions attendance decreased the most at 20.6 percent when compared to December 2007. TIA also reports a Travel Price Index (TPI) which measures the seasonally unadjusted inflation rate of the cost of travel away from home in the United States. The TPI is based on U.S. Department of Labor price data collected for the monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI). The Travel Price Index decreased 5.5 Percent in December.
