See America Week

Each May, See America Week is celebrated by the industry and communities across the nation to help promote travel to and within the United States. In South Dakota, the Office of Tourism teams up with state Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVBs) to increase awareness of the travel and tourism industry's economic, social and cultural contributions to South Dakota. The Office of Tourism and the CVBs work together to develop a marketing plan that best fits the goals and objectives of the See South Dakota week campaign.

2008 See South Dakota Week

This year’s See America Week takes place May 10-18. The Office of Tourism will work with CVBs statewide to spread the message of tourism’s benefits to South Dakota. Marketing promotions including campaigns focused in each participating community, media blitzes and interviews as well as hospitality service training are the backbone of this year’s campaign. Many of these efforts incorporate the See America theme, “Discover Great American Traditions.”
