Spring Hospitality Training

This spring, 20+ different hospitality training opportunities are being offered in numerous locations around South Dakota. Below, find information about when, where and how much, as well as who to contact for more information and to get registered.

ABERDEEN
May 6 (8:30-10 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.)
"Aberdeen 101" is a two-part training that will include customer service training and familiarization of Aberdeen sites, attractions and history. The trainer is Yankton CVB director, Lisa Scheve. The training will be held at the AmericInn Convention Center. The cost is $25 (scholarships are available).

CHAMBERLAIN-OACOMA
April 27 (10-11:30 a.m. or 4-5:30 p.m.)
"Life is too short not to be happy, and too long not to do well," according to Bryan Dodge. Bryan's inspirational keynotes are on the subjects of personal and professional development, successful habits of the wealthy and leadership principles. Malcom Chapman will be doing an upbeat, fun and educational presentation on "The Future of Leadership" which is geared towards managers, executive directors – anyone in a managerial position – or individuals that would like to be in one. When everything clicks with teams in an organization, the result is a seamless experience. That’s what we want our customers (internal and external) to feel. And, by the way ...THE FUTURE IS NOW! FORT SISSETON HISTORIC STATE PARK
May 26 (2-5 p.m.) or May 27 (9 a.m.-12 noon)
Pat McGill will give a customized presentation titled "The ABCD's of Great Hospitality!" It is for all employees on the "front line" of customer interaction. Pat will share experiences in human relations that will stir new ideas, stimulate a refreshed perspective and inspire those who meet, greet and serve all types of people in their daily work. Each session will be held in the South Barracks. The cost is $10 (large group rates are available).

A SkillPath workshop entitled "The Essentials of Excellent Customer Service" will be held at the Ramada Inn & Suites Conference Center. The cost for Chamber Members is $29 for the first registration and $24 for each additional registration. The non-member rate is $35 for the first registration and $30 for each additional registration.

A two-hour education seminar titled "New Business Markets: 15 Trends Impacting the Business World " will be held 9-11 a.m. at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The speaker will be Michele Wierzgac. In addition, the 2010 Visitor Industry Luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and feature Mark-Hans Richer, Harley-Davidson Senior Vice President and Global Marketing Officer ("Revving Up to Greatness: Don't Be the Bug, Be the Windshield"). The cost is $20 for the seminar only, $30 for the luncheon only , or $40 for the seminar and the luncheon. (-- more info --)
