Travelers are looking for the convenience of packaged
vacations. This online promotion allows industry partners to
promote vacation packages on Tourism's consumer website,
www.TravelSD.com, for up to one year.
All packages are listed in the
Vacation Packages
section of the consumer site, which is just one click off
the homepage.
The Department of Tourism uses a variety of advertising
mediums to promote packages, including newspaper, television,
email, radio and the Internet. Submitted packages must include at least
one activity or event and at least one night of lodging.
Additional elements are encouraged. Partners price the packages as well as determine start and end
dates, and the Department of Tourism does the rest. Consumers contact partners (or the specified lodging property)
directly to book the package.
Registration for this
promotion is accepted throughout the year.
