Hot Deals is a cooperative marketing program offered to
lodging properties, only. The program allows
lodging properties to post any last-minute deals on www.TravelSD.com. For
example, if a hotel has a large number of open rooms or
cancellations one weekend, the hotel may post a deal on
www.TravelSD.com to advertise the open rooms at a discounted rate
for "this weekend only." An annual subscription for this program
is $50.
Here are the guidelines for the program:

You must first register for the
program and pay the $50 annual fee.

Lodging property contacts the
Office of Tourism about their hot deal and submits a
registration online or via fax using the downloadable form.

Tourism must have not more than
two week's or less than two business day's advance notice
for registration of hot deal.

The deal must be a minimum
of 25 percent off the rack rate (i.e. current season's
rate).

The rate must be effective not
more than seven nights.

Partners must have at least
five rooms available at the rate/hot deal.

Phone number is required -
bookings will be handled via direct phone, not online
(although Web site links can be included as part of the deal
description).

The program year runs May 1,
2008-May 1, 2009 (properties may sign up for the program at
any time, but the fee is still $50).

There is a 20-word limit (about
offer only).

Promotion/hot deal will rotate
on the TravelSD.com homepage as well as be listed in the
"Travel Specials/Hot Deals" section. The deal will be
removed when it expires or the property is full. (Property
must notify the Office of Tourism if the deal needs to be
removed prior to expiring.)

There is no limit to the number
of hot deals a property may submit during the program year.
Since payment is required when registering for the program,
the registration form must be mailed to the Office of Tourism.

When you are ready to submit a Hot Deal, you can submit it
via the online form, or you may
download and fax the form.
