Great Getaways Newspaper Insert

The Great Getaways Newspaper Insert is a cooperative program between the Department of Tourism and partners from across South Dakota. The newspaper insert is a multi-page, full-color, magazine-style marketing piece that focuses on travel opportunities throughout the state. Partners receive a color photo and 40 words of copy (including phone number, email, and web address).

South Dakota is full of terrific vacation opportunities for visitors from nearby markets, and this co-op is a great chance to get your business in front of thousands of potential visitors.

 

Peak Season

For 2011, the Peak Great Getaways marketing piece was inserted into newspapers in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming with a circulation of 752,415. It dropped the week of April 24, 2011. The Peak Season Great Getaways was open to 65 partners.

If you are interested in participating in the 2012 Peak Great Getaways, please be looking for registration to begin in February 2012.

 

 

Shoulder Season
The Department of Tourism is now accepting registrations for the 2011 Shoulder Season Great Getaways program. This marketing piece will be inserted into newspapers in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming for a circulation of 575,652 and dropping the week of August 14, 2011. The Shoulder Season Great Getaways is open to 42 partners on a first-come, first-served basis. Partnership into this program costs $450.

To become a partner, please submit your payment and completed registration form, along with your copy and photo to Casey Buechler, 711 E Wells Ave, Pierre, SD 57501 or email to casey.buechler@state.sd.us. You may pay online with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or with a check by mail. If you pay online, you still need to complete and submit a registration form and submit your copy and photo to secure your spot.
