Program Details (Shoulder)

South Dakota is full of terrific vacation opportunities that await visitors from nearby markets. The Great Getaways Co-op is a chance to get your business in front of thousands of these potential visitors, whether you have a family attraction, quaint resort, fun event, or B&B.

• The South Dakota Department of Tourism will produce one 20-page, full-color, magazine-style marketing piece for the shoulder season.
• The Great Getaways Co-op has room for 42 partners.
• Cost for the co-op per partner is $450.
• Insertion will take place in newspapers in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
• It will be inserted into newspapers the week of August 14, 2011.
• Each partner receives 40 words of copy, including phone number, email and/or web address and a color photo.
• To reserve a space in this marketing piece, please send in the registration form, 40 words of copy, photo and a check for $450. Participation is limited to the first 42 partners, based upon receipt of payment and the ad materials.
  
  Payment may also be made online with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard). You still need to complete and submit a registration form, including your copy and photo, to secure your spot in this fall's insert.

Copy Instructions

Please email or include with the registration form your 40 words of copy describing your business. Keep in mind that the Department of Tourism does reserve the right to revise copy to fit our writing style in order to keep the piece uniform. When writing your copy, please remember to include all contact information and your business name in the heading.

If you email your copy, send it to Casey Buechler at casey.buechler@state.sd.us. Remember to also fill out the registration form completely.

Photo Instructions

Please send via email one high resolution digital image. Remember, we do not allow photos that have been altered with the addition of a second image or logo, this also includes the addition of any locator maps. Photos must be emailed to Casey Buechler at casey.buechler@state.sd.us.

If you cannot find a photo you would like to use, please contact Chad Coppess, Senior Photographer, to check on availability of an image from the Department of Tourism's photo files.

Reminder

Payment is only one aspect of registering. You will not be registered into the program until we receive your completed form, payment, 40 words of copy and digital photo. Space will be reserved according to the date we receive your payment and materials.
