Digital Revolution Co-op Program Registration

Digital Revolution

Program Information

There are two registration options for Digital Revolution. The first one costs $250 and allows a visitor industry-related business or event to enhance its listing on www.TravelSD.com with additional information as well as the option to post multi-media content. The listings are also integrated throughout the site. Partners have control of their content as updates are the responsibility of each partner and can be made as often as the partner wishes. (Content will be reviewed by Department of Tourism staff before going live.) The $250 is a one-time fee.

The second option costs $500 and includes all the benefits of the $250 option, plus it includes a one year membership in South Dakota Central Reservations (SDCR). This membership is in effect January-December (no matter when a partner registers during the year) and allows partners to offer online sales and/or bookings. After the first year of program membership, partners will need to renew their SDCR memberships directly with them. SDCR reserves the right to modify the terms of the membership as well as the rate.

For both options, the Department of Tourism reserves the right to approve or decline a Digital Revolution program membership. For the $500 option, South Dakota Central Reservations will have the option of accepting or declining a membership. Being declined by SDCR does not mean that a registrantwill be declined from Digital Revolution all together.

Program Guidelines

A Digital Revolution partner may submit more than one program registration if they own/manage more than one business. The program payment ($250 or $500) is for one business listing. For example, each of the separate Ramkota properties needs to be registered and paid for separately. A parent company or entity cannot register once and then update all the individual property or event listings for $250.

In addition, if a company or entity has more than one business or event at the same address and they already have or wish to have a listing for each business/event, each business/event must be registered and paid for separately (i.e. La Quinta Inn & Suites and WaTiki Indoor Waterpark Resort, different events at the Washington Pavilion, etc.). If not, the businesses or events will be accommodated within a single listing and will be allowed one web address and one email address.

Basic listings, as you see now on www.TravelSD.com, will still be shown for businesses or events that opt to not participate in Digital Revolution.

Digital Revolution partners must be businesses located or events held within South Dakota. Out-of-state ownership/management is permitted, but the business or event must be in-state. Partners must also be a visitor industry-related business or event. Review the current Travel Directory or Calendar of Events on www.TravelSD.com to see the types of businesses and events that qualify. For more event guidelines, see the Calendar of Events Guidelines.

Integration with other www.TravelSD.com site content (i.e. vacation packages, events, etc.) will be automatically generated by the system. Partners will not be able to pick and choose the links.

Content Management System (CMS)

When completing the program registration form, a valid email address is required. Digital Revolution is based on partner-maintained content. What that means is that partners will maintain their own listing(s) via the online CMS. This is a secure system that is password-protected so that only the partner and Department of Tourism staff have access to the partner's content. In order to create an individual secure account in the CMS, Tourism needs the partner's valid email address.

After program registration and payment are received, the partner is emailed the login information for their CMS account. At that time, the partner will have access to further guidelines for the content that will be accepted (i.e. maximum number of words in the copy, types of photos, length of videos, etc.).

Registration Form

There is an online version of the program registration form and a downloadable version (PDF 25 KB).

Payment Options

There are two payment options: either submit payment to the Department of Tourism through the mail, or pay by credit card using the Online Payment system.

Registration is not considered complete until payment is received.

Refunds

Should a refund of a payment need to be issued, the Department of Tourism will refund $250 via check. If the payment is for the $500 option and South Dakota Central Reservations is not able to accept your membership, they will be responsible for refunding to the registrant the $250 paid to them from the Department of Tourism.
