Hunters and anglers make a significant impact on South Dakota’s
economy. To keep them hunting in South Dakota throughout the
season, Tourism’s shoulder campaign includes television and
magazine ads, as well as a direct mail piece and an online
presence to entice them to plan their hunting and fishing trips
in South Dakota this fall.
Commercials of South Dakota hunters and anglers in action will
air during episodes of Kent Hrbek Outdoors and Pheasants Forever
TV and on The Outdoor Channel and Fox Sports North.

Ads promoting “The Rush of the Flush” will be advertised in a
number of America’s most popular outdoor magazines, including
Field & Stream, Outdoor Life and Pheasants Forever Journal.

Hunters will also be enticed with ads on
Members from the Media and PR team will be attending a variety
of outdoor events to increase awareness of the outdoor
opportunities in South Dakota. Among them are The National
Pheasant Fest 25th Anniversary in Minneapolis Jan. 18-20, 2008,
and Travel Media Showcase in Palm Springs, Calif. Nov. 27-30,
2007. Each will offer opportunities for the South Dakota Office
of Tourism to promote statewide activities and events.
